The Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) is responsible for the protection and management of state and privately owned forest, watershed and federal lands under contracts in Nevada. The division provides technical assistance for private landowners on various topics, such as forest management, windbreak tree programs, greenbelts, and insect and disease problems. It also assists local governments and rural communities in urban forestry programs. The Nevada Division of Forestry, in partnership with the Nevada Department of Corrections, operates conservation camps throughout the state. The division coordinates and supervises a statewide system for prevention, detection and suppression of unwanted wildfire. It develops partnerships with federal, state and local agencies. The Nevada Division of Forestry offers conservation and environmental education programs. The division conserves endangered plants and other native flora. It additionally improves the environment of cities and communities by increasing the planting of trees and improving the care and maintenance of existing trees.
