Established in 1999, Museum of the Aleutians collects, preserves and shares the human history of Unalaska. Located in Unalaska, Alaska, the museum has state-of-the-art exhibit galleries, collections storage area and laboratory. Its permanent exhibits display 9,000 years of life in the Aleutians. Museum of the Aleutians organizes guided tours, field trips, lectures and publications. The museum also conducts archeological excavations. Additionally, it has a large photographic collection, portraying the natural and human history of the Aleutian Islands from 1900 onwards.
