Pope Farms Produce and Garden Center is your one-stop, mom and pop shop when it comes to home grown produce and plants. Competitively priced against the big box stores, our passion for local pours into everything we do. We grow local, buy local, sell local, and in fact. we are locals! Northern Colorado is home to us and our customers feel like neighbors. Not only can you pick up supplies for the season and tonights dinner, but when you come in to see us, youll be greeted with friendly faces, helping hands, and tips and tricks from owner and gardener extraordinaire, Susan Pope. Susan is a Colorado Master Gardener, as designated by Colorado State University, and the voice behind our Green Thumb Gossip, a weekly blog where she shares her expertise on things like when to plant what, tricks of the trade, and how to make your yard the talk of the town. In the spring, youll find a complete garden center including trendy garden decor, a rainbow of roses, plants, shrubs, seeds, bulbs, potting soil and composts, as well as a small variety of early season produce. Throughout the summer and fall (June-November), a full selection of locally grown produce, including Western Slope fruit and Rocky Ford melons, is offered both at the store and at the farmers markets we participate in across the Front Range. Finally, when the snow starts to fall, we stock the freshest cut Christmas trees in town, along with wreaths, holiday decor, locally grown poinsettias, and gift baskets. In addition, our staples available all year include our line of Colorado Country Kitchen canned goods, USA grown produce, Colorados Best Beef, Colorado Cherry Company ciders and juice, Village Pie Maker frozen fruit pies, Marlyces homemade noodles and butterballs, Clarks local honey, Fire Mountain jams and jellies, and our own frozen green chili.

James A. Clark, one of the first fruit growers in the valley, purchased 20 acres of land where he plowed and planted peaches in the late 1800s. Every generation since has grown fruit in the Palisade area. Now, six generations later and over 100 years, the Clark Family is still actively farming fruit at the east end of the Palisade area.

Talbott Farms started in the early 1900s with some of the first orchards in the Grand Valley region of Colorado. Through four generations, the family business has grown to become the Grand Valleys premier grower and processor of quality fruit and fruit products. Todays senior management includes three great-grandchildren, one grandson, and nearly a century of experience carrying on a tradition of quality fruit production. Talbott Farms is located in Palisade, in Colorados Plateau region, 4,727 feet above sea level and home to world famous peaches. Its characterized by dozens of separate plateaus that range from about 5,000 to 11,000 feet high and arranged in tiers and groups, separated or cut by deep canyons formed by tributaries of the Colorado River. Rugged hills and a few mountain ranges rise from the Colorado Plateau. Formed by the uplifting of the area combined with localized erosion and the down cutting of the Colorado River, Palisades sculptured appearance was first inhabited in 1881. By 1894, the first peach, pear, apple and grape orchards appeared and established Palisade as todays "Peach Capital."
