For the elderly and homebound who are unable to purchase or prepare their own meals, Meals on Wheels is there to assist them. Volunteers deliver two meals a day during the week. Every customer receives a hot and cold meal that is prepared at the Warminster Hospital. Meals on Wheels has been in operation since 1977, and they have roughly 90 volunteers who prepare and hand-deliver the food. The restaurant, which opened in June 2009, is owned and operated by the Burgess family, who have been in the restaurant business since 1954. The staff is very helpful, and the restaurant has a family-friendly atmosphere.
