The Stoughton Fire Department's Station #1 is located on Freeman Street, just about 100 yards from the downtown area. It served as the headquarters for the department before the Central Street Station (Station #2) was built. David M. Jardin is the current Fire Chief and Mark Dolloff is the current deputy chief.
