The Easton Volunteer Fire Department responds to fires, carbon monoxide alarms, downed wires, car accidents, fire alarms and more. Each summer the department sponsors a carnival, and firefighters participate in the Memorial Day parade each year.
The Fire Marshal's office is located in Town Hall. This office will advise you of the fire protection requirements, even for a business in a residential home. If necessary, they will review your plans and give required approvals.
The Fire Marshal is part of the Department of Land Use.
The Flanders Fire Department is one of two fire facilities in East Lyme, the other being Niantic Fire Department.
Both departments are combination staff and volunteer departments.
Flanders is located on the Boston Post Road, known also as Route 1.
The Poquonnock Bridge Fire District covers a large part of the town's residential area as well as most of its commercial area. The district has stations at 373 Long Hill Road and 13 Fort Hill Road, and also provides mutual aid to other departments. The Long Hill station has an engine equipped with medical equipment, a ladder truck, a boat and trailer, a special operations trailer for incidents involving hazardous materials, the chief's car, deputy chief's car and a pickup The Fort Hill station has an engine used for basic firefighting and medical assistance, a fire alarm maintenance truck, a reserve engine, a parade truck and the fire marshal's care. The station also houses the fire prevention office. The department responds to more than 2,000 calls a year. Michael Richards is fire marshal. Todd Paige is chief.
The Simsbury Fire District maintains six active fire stations that are strategically located to provide coverage for the town: the Main Station at 871 Hopmeadow Street, where district offices are also located; the West Simsbury Station, 235 Farms Village Road; Bushy Hill Station, 345 Bushy Hill Road; Weatogue Station, 251 Hopmeadow Street; Firetown Station, 344 Firetown Road; and Tariffville Station, 7 Church Street. The stations are covered by members of the Simbsury Volunteer Fire Company.
Protecting and preserving the community of Byram are some 40 volunteer firefighters who make up the Byram Volunteer Fire Company. The company is the third of eight stations that serve Greenwich.
The Greenwich Fire Department is a combination of professional volunteers and uniformed career fire fighters who respond to over 4,000 emergency calls each year.
