The Corte Madera Fire Department is a fire rescue and prevention service that protects the Madera community and its environment from the effects of fire. The fire department also assists with medical emergencies and hazardous conditions. The department is comprised of 25 paid personnel and up to 20 volunteers, and it has nine emergency fire apparatus. Daily staffing of the department includes a fire engine with one firefighter, one engineer paramedic and engine officer. The department offers CPR and first aid training classes throughout the year; visit its website for a schedule. The department also offers an open house for kids during Fire Prevention Week to meet the firefighters and learn about fire safety.
