The United States Coast Guard has been serving the Wilmette area since the 1860s. Aside from keeping the 30 mile Chicagoland coast safe, the Coast Guard also enforces safe zones during air and water shows and patrols during each weekly fireworks display at Navy Pier. The Coast Guard stationed here take part in over 100 Search and Rescue (SAR) cases each year.
This office is located in the Green Knolls Shopping Center at 63rd and Main streets. It offers complete information about the U.S. Army and qualifies candidates. Recruiting offices for other branches of the military are also located here.
