Founded in 1943, Padlock Ranch is spread across an area of more than 3,000 acres. It markets over 12,000 calves a year and has nearly 50 employees. The ranch grazes cow-calf pairs on native grassland in Montana and Wyoming and irrigates approximately 5,000 acres of farmland. It produces more than 11,000 tons of dry hay, over 20,000 tons of corn silage and nearly 60,000 bushels of barley annually. Padlock Ranch also supports several animal species, such as mule deer, mink, red fox, bull snake and leopard frog.
