Tooh Dineh Industries was established in 1983 to provide employment opportunities on the Navaho Indian Reservation. It began producing, cutting and striping blades for wire processing equipment in the small community of Leupp, Ariz. In 1984, it established a partnership with the Packard Electric Division of General Motors to produce electronic modules for GM automobiles. In the 1990s it became a fully independent full service contract manufacturing company. Apple Computer contracted with the company to provide repair and upgrade of their Macintosh computer field returns. It produced cable television signal distribution systems for Scientific Atlanta and global positioning system prototypes for Litton Industries. Today, Tooh Dineh Industries is one of the largest contract electronics manufacturing companies in northern Arizona. Its average employment level is 100. Bourns, General Motors, Hewlett Packard and Wulfsberg Electronics are several of its current customers. Its core business remains electronic assembly of printed circuit boards. Additional capabilities include cable and harness assembly and fulfillment activities.
