Founded in 1913, Pine Mountain Settlement School is spread across an area of more than 750 acres. It is a nonprofit institution and is governed by a board of trustees. The school provides instructions in environmental education and traditional arts. It offers classes in geology, astronomy, ecology and folk dances. The school also conducts several workshops and family-oriented social events, including reunions and picnics. Pine Mountain Settlement School offers accommodations for weddings.
