Since 1951, Henley-Johnston & Associates, Inc ( HJA ), headquartered in Dallas, Texas, has been involved in numerous projects throughout the world.HJA brings forth an unparalleled record of achievement and experience in working with the soil and rock units present in North Texas, gained through the completion of over 9, 000 projects in Dallas/Fort Worth and the surrounding areas.HJA currently maintains a staff of 35 to 40 individuals who range from professional engineers, engineering geologists, soils and concrete technicians, quality control personnel, and geotechnical drillers. HJA staff conducts geotechnical studies and geological assessments for a wide range of projects, which include deep excavations, rock wall stability studies, and slope and retaining wall stability assessments, remediation efforts for expansive soils and evaluations for footings, concrete piers and pile foundations, and Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.HJA operates its own fleet of trucks and ATV-mounted drilling rigs capable of auger work and rock coring to depths of 500 feet. Field services include packer-testing, draw down tests, plate-load bearing tests and in-place vane-shear testing. Rock core samples can be obtained in sizes of Ax, Nx, Hx, and DCDMA 6. Solid tube, split spoon and Denison barrel samples can be obtained for soil testing. Drilling capabilities are rounded out by angle-hole drilling and inland-marine services utilizing a company owned barge.HJA offers a full range of construction materials testing and inspection services, ranging from house pad testing to multi-story commercial projects. HJA maintains a staff of field technicians with current certifications in concrete field testing, post tension cable inspection, concrete slab profiling, and nuclear gauge testing.
