If you are having difficulty getting the quality or quantity of sleep that you prefer, then you may see your primary care doctor for an evaluation. If your physician thinks your symptoms require more specialized care, then he or she may refer you to a sleep specialist in our Las Cruces facility. Once you have been referred to a sleep specialist, you will receive an evaluation and be asked a series of questions regarding your symptoms. After performing an evaluation and a review of your symptoms and medical history, the sleep specialist will decide if you are a good candidate for a polysomnogram (sleep test), during which you sleep while a technician monitors different body systems and behaviors with electrodes and other attachments.

Dr. John Reynolds is a board-certified endocrinologist, a physician who specializes in the management of diabetes, thyroid disorders, and other hormonal imbalances of the endocrine system. Dr. Reynolds completed his undergraduate education at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH and completed medical school at University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He completed a residency at St. Lukes Medical Center in Denver, CO, and a fellowship in endocrinology at University of New Mexico.
