Some of the issues we treat include Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating, Compulsive Overeating, Night Eating Syndrome, Laxative Abuse, Body Image Distortion, Body Dysmorphia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Trauma, Depression, and Anxiety Disorders. Since it is common for families or parents of children with an eating disorder to need additional support and counseling, we also have specialists in family and couples counseling to help the loved ones work through the issues that can accompany the eating disorder. Many people fear seeking treatment for their eating disorders because they equate treatment with getting “fat”. We want you to come to know that no matter what your issues are, recovery is a journey to health, wellness, and ultimately freedom. The most effective and long-lasting treatment for an eating disorder is some form of psychotherapy or counseling, coupled with careful attention to medical and nutritional needs. Ideally, this treatment should be tailored to the individual. Consequently, treatment methods and duration will vary according to both the severity of the disorder and the individual’s problems, needs, and strengths.
