Amarr Garage Doors first opened its doors in Winston-Salem, N.C., as a local building supply house. During its first 15 years, its strength was gained locally as a garage door installation company. Simultaneously, its experience and knowledge in garage door manufacturing and assembly expanded. In the late 1960s, the company found itself poised to leave the installation business and begin manufacturing its own line of Amarr residential and commercial garage doors. With more than 50 door centers in nearly 30 states, Canada and Mexico and with its ever-increasing international distribution, Amarr continues to be a leader in the garage door industry with plans for continued growth and expansion. The company manufactures steel and wood doors for residential and commercial customers. The different models include WeatherGuard, Heritage, Stratford, Carriage House, Classica Collection, Oak Summit and JELD-WEN doors. It also produces garage door opener systems. Amarr Garage Doors has a location in Lawrence, Kan.
