Founded in 1973, Trident Seafoods Corporation is a privately held corporation that operates offshore processors and shore-side plants throughout Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. The company is a harvester, processor and marketer of seafood. Trident Seafoods Corporation produces crab, canned sockeye salmon and frozen Bristol Bay sockeye. It is one of the leading producers of pollock, cod, herring and canned pink salmon in the state. The company manages more than five primary processing plants in Alaska, including a Southeast pink salmon cannery in Ketchikan, Bristol Bay sockeye salmon canning and freezing operations in North and South Naknek. Trident Seafoods Corporation owns and operates Tyson Seafood Group and also maintains processing plants for groundfish in Oregon. It has a fleet of factory trawlers and fishing vessels for the production of blocks, surimi, roe and groundfish fillets.
