A positive patient experience is critical for the successful treatment of skin cancer. I am committed to providing each patient with the most comfortable experience, minimizing stress that can sometimes surround a surgical procedure. As a Mohs surgeon, my goal is to use microscopic examination to ensure complete removal of the skin cancer while minimizing the amount of tissue removed. Being confident that the skin cancer is gone with the least amount of normal tissue removed makes it easier to restore appearance and function. This powerful technique combined with a thoughtful and compassionate team is why I am committed to taking care of patients with skin cancer.

As a pediatric dermatologist, I strive to provide the highest quality sub-specialty care in a friendly, welcoming, and child-friendly clinic atmosphere. I enjoy all aspects of pediatric dermatology, but I have a particular interest in the management of vascular birthmarks such as infantile hemangiomas, capillary malformations, and complex vascular birthmarks. I also enjoy the challenge of treating chronic skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis (eczema), psoriasis, acne, and genetic skin diseases. I have specialized pediatric dermatologic surgical training and perform surgeries both at Heater Road and at the Outpatient Surgery Center. I am passionate about teaching, and I strive to provide my patients and their families with clear, detailed, and thoughtfully presented information. I also believe that it is important to address the potential psychological and emotional effect of visible dermatologic conditions, and I try to offer strategies for children and their families that help reduce this impact. My areas of clinical research interest include using technology to create novel shared decision making and educational tools for patients and their families, and I publish regularly on this topic. I am an active member of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance, and the American Academy of Dermatology.
