Located just north of Highway 169 in Shakopee, Select Dance Academy and Performing Arts Center provides instruction in a number of performing arts specialties, including professional dance, singing, modeling, piano, guitar and acting. Classes are offered for children as young as 3 years old. Class sizes are small, and assistant instructors are provided in all classes with students ages 8 and younger.
Located in the Town Square Mall, this locally owned studio offers both competitive and non-competitive lessons to modern dance students between the ages of 6 and 18. Styles taught include hip-hop, lyrical and pointe. Students can join Metropolitan Dance Alliance performance teams to compete in regional and national competitions. MDA has three 6,500-square-foot studios with hardwood floors, full mirrors, sound systems and ballet bars. The studios also are available for rent for fitness classes or other events.
