CORE Studios is home to the CORE Performance Company, a professional dance company in downtown Decatur, as well as a rental facility for special events, classes and workshops. CORE Studios acts as home for dance and is also a place for community classes and events.
Off Broadway Children's Theatre/Off Broadway Dance Theatre is a family-owned and operated theater. Classes are offered in dance, music and acting. It offers instruction to students between the age of 3 and 18 and encourages students to explore the many facets of performing arts. It also produces 8 full productions per year for its black box theatre. Classes include acting, creative drama, improv, musical theatre, ballet, contemporary dance, hip hop, jazz, tap, voice, guitar, piano and flute.
Dance Theatre at Sandy Springs maintains four studios Florida and one in Georgia and Kentucky. It provides professional dance training for children and hosts competitive teams. Its dancers have performed at venues such as the Summer Olympics, the Super Bowl, the Pro Bowl, The Orange Bowl, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and The London Grand Christmas Parade.
To lay to rest its name's curious origin, the Dancing Goats Coffee Bar is named after the legend of coffee's discovery, which happened in present-day Ethiopia when a goatherd noticed his goats suddenly dancing erratically. Curiously, he tried some of the shrubbery in question and soon he too felt the unnatural jolt of energy.
Now on to the company. Think of Dancing Goats Coffee as more of a coffee wholesaler rather than a café. The wholesaler, which adheres to green practices, has become popular enough to open a café that showcases its single-origin coffees. This is one of five nationwide locations.
One of Walton County's newest parks, Meridian Park is located just off Highway 78 in Loganville. The 24-acre park features a picturesque lake surrounded by a mile-long walking track, picnic tables, benches, a playground and an outdoor classroom. The lake is stocked with catfish and bream and is open seasonally for fishing. The park also offers a community center that includes two gymnasiums, classrooms, and an activity room that can be rented for meetings or parties. It also includes a fitness center, an indoor walking track and two outdoor pavilions.
Cobb Civic Dance Theatre has been helping kids break into show business for over 30 years. It offers instruction in a variety of dance styles, including tap, ballet, jazz and hip hop. It also specializes in theatre, plays, modeling and pageantry.
Peachtree offers gymnastics, cheer, tumbling, dance, sports skill, karate and parent participation classes for ages 16 months - 18 years old. The professional curriculum teaches correct technique along with fun and games to help build self-esteem and confidence. Students are welcome to rotate among the four facilities.
Payment plans are available and discounts for third and fourth child are also an option. 10% discounts are offered if customers pay in advance for the entire year, and 25% off when children take two or more classes.
