Arthur Murray Dance Studios specializes in Ballroom and Latin dancing. Private lessons are available and singles and couples are invited. There are many dances to choose from, from the waltz, fox trot, swing, salsa, hustle, Argentine tango, country western and ballroom dancing. Instructors are carefully trained to give you the best dance instruction possible. Weekly dance parties are held so you can try out the moves you've learned in a relaxed and fun setting with your instructor. Group classes allows you to dance with a variety of people and accommodate all levels of instruction.
This locally owned dance studio is operated out of the Merrick American Legion center.While classes here are primarily geared toward children and young adults, instruction is open to all ages. Private lessons are also available. The centre also hosts children's birthday parties by reservation.
At the On Your Toes Academy of Dance, Artistic Director Louise Taitz and her experienced staff of teachers have one goal: "To instill a love of dance while teaching good, solid technique." Students from age three to adult can learn classical and contemporary ballet, tap, jazz, funk, musical theater, hip-hop, pop-lock and poms. Kindergartners can take a performing arts enrichment program that eases them into the fun and discipline of dance. Every May, students perform in a recital at Stevenson High School. The studio is affiliated with the American Academy of Ballet in New York City.
The Just Dance Academy teaches students recreational and concentrated dancing in a safe and friendly environment. They offer weekly classes in modern, ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop and contemporary dance styles. In addition to bi-annual recitals, the Academy participates in dance competitions throughout the year in the San Francisco Bay Area. Anyone who has been in the program for at least a year and has reached the second grade can audition to take part in them.
