Since 1966, families in Fort Dodge and the Webster County area have called upon Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services for the finest services, the most comfortable facilities, and the most compassionate attention to their needs. Families trust Gundersons in their time of need because of our reputation for professionalism and extensive community involvement, and the wide range of options we offer in funeral and memorial services. Robert C. Gunderson founded Gunderson-Sellergren Funeral Home in 1966, with partners Delaine Sellergren and Kenneth Rasch. From the beginning, the three men believed that their company should establish a solid tradition for offering the finest, most caring service, and the most modern facility and equipment. They also believed in being adaptable to the needs of the families they served, and working hard to give each funeral service a special dignity and personal meaning. Mr. Sellergren retired in 1977, and the company was renamed Gunderson Funeral Home. Upon Robert C. Gundersons death in 1989, Phillip Gunderson assumed management. He, his wife Keely, and his staff, have been extensively involved in community service activities, including support of the Hospice of Fort Dodge, public and private schools and death education programs. Our firm is a member of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, the Order of the Golden Rule and the Cremation Association of North America. The firm is also a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the National Council of Hospice, and the Palliative Care Professionals. The firm has been recognized regionally and nationally for community service activities. Phil Gunderson continues to build upon the legacy and tradition of the original three partners, understanding and providing for the individual desires of families in their time of need.
