The Kitsap County Sheriff s Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that employs more than 125 commissioned deputies, over 100 correction officers and nearly 30 support personnel. In addition, it has a workforce of approximately 100 civilian volunteers. The office offers a variety of services to citizens, such as uniformed police response, traffic enforcement, criminal records, civil service process, collision and criminal investigations, and property and evidence security. The Kitsap County Sheriff s Office maintains a detention center that is a 406-bed adult correctional facility. It has several special units, such as court security, special investigations, bomb disposal, Kitsap Nuisance Abatement Team and Special Weapons and Tactics Team.
