About JO The JO has been providing public transportation services to much of Johnson County, downtown Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas since 1980. The JO operates 5 days a week with most routes running during peak morning and afternoon times. The JO has over 100 drivers who drive approximately 100 coaches and cutaway vans. The JO vehicles travel approximately 8, 300 miles every day. Through The JO Special Edition, curb-to-curb service for disabled, elderly and low income residents of Johnson County is provided. For more information on JCTs non-discrimination policies, or if you believe you have been discriminated against and need to file a complaint, please contact: Johnson County Transportation Council ( JCTC ) was created in 1979 by Board of County Commissioners as an advisory committee in the area of mass public transportation. The JCTC meets regularly with the staff of the Transportation Department to consider, address and advise on various transportation-related issues. The JCTC makes recommendations to both the Transportation Department and Board of County Commissioners. JO Facility Johnson County Transit opened the Murray L. Nolte Transit Center in Olathe in May 2001. This new facility houses the administrative, maintenance and operations offices. JO and The JO Special Edition will not operate service on the following designated holidays: When routes run more than 30 minutes behind, or 15 minutes during business hours, rider alerts may be sent and local media will be contacted.
