Based in Colorado Springs, Colo., Engineering Division is one of the units of the transportation department operated by the government of El Paso County, Colo. The division has various groups offering a variety of services, including engineering design and program management, contracts and storm water management, construction management and inspection, surveying, and traffic engineering and transportation planning. Engineering Division is responsible for planning and coordination of projects, including road rehabilitation, new roadway and bridge design, and evaluation and design of various types of drainage structures. The division s construction management and inspection group performs construction inspection of utilities, negotiates utility agreements, develops materials specifications, and performs materials inspection and testing. Its survey group conducts total station surveys, as well as construction and boundary surveys.
