Maverik Country Stores operates a chain of retail stores that provide gasoline, car care products and convenience items, such as candy, chips, cookies and soda. The stores have monthly promotions that feature several discounted items. Maverik, founded in the late 1920 s by Reuel Call, started in the petroleum business by building two refineries and developing its own independent brand. With new refineries and a fleet of trucks, Call began to provide products for his Maverik stores. The company operates more than 165 stores in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. Maverik also sponsors a racing team that features a monster truck, drag car and 2002 Dodge Viper.
