Rural Resources Community is part of a network of more than 1,000 community action agencies that serve low-income families and individuals throughout the United States. Established in 1965 and located in Colville, Wash., it is a nonprofit organization that offers medical, dental and mental health care services, and organizes early childhood development programs. It organizes a variety of educational activities, including literacy, language classes and occupational, physical and speech therapy programs. The organization additionally provides food services, and also organizes indoor and outdoor sports activities. The center involves parents in training programs, such as child care and dietary planning. It also organizes various other programs for low-income communities, such as emergency food, housing, employment and educational activities.
