Temple Beth Am was established in 1963, and more than 180 families now comprise the temple's membership. Services offered include Shabbat family services and children's religious school. Torah studies, book clubs and choir are ongoing at the temple, as is active membership through social action committees and other community-related activities.
Church of the Harvest is a non-denominational congregation. The church, however, belongs to the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies. Founded by Pastor Mike Troiano in 1982, the congregation has blossomed to host approximately 150 members. With two locations, The Half Hollow Hills Community Library serves the residents of Dix Hills and Melville. The library features a wide selection of books, movies, music, periodicals, reference materials and children's books, in addition to offering internet access, computer use and research assistance services. The Dix Hills building, which serves as the main branch, is located across the street from one of the district's two high schools, Hills East. The library's Melville location is located across the street from one of the district's seven elementary schools, Sunquam Elementary. It is a public library serving a population of 43,616 residents. The library circulates 512,735 items per year and has a collection containing 335,625 volumes.

Family Services of Westchester is a private, not-for-profit, non-sectarian agency with its headquarters in Port Chester. The company's health services cover a broad range of social and mental programs custom-designed to meet the particular needs of children, teens, adults, and the elderly through eight Family Centers. Family Services of Westchester is staffed with over 450 professional and Master's-level social workers, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, child care workers, nurses, certified home health aides, multi-lingual clinicians,; peer counselors and early-childhood educators.
The Nyack Community Ambulance Corps is a volunteer-run and -staffed emergency medical service. In addition to providing on-call urgent care and transport, it has a number of community outreach programs, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, defibrillator training and drunk driving awareness workshops. The organization offers students professional instruction in a comfortable atmosphere. It focuses on developing artistic potential. Antonia Arts hosts staged readings, open microphone events and music shows. It offers classes and workshops to individuals of all ages.
