The Council on Aging facility on West Main Street used to be a fire station and then a school house before it turned into its current incarnation, a senior center. Upon entering the building, you will meet many friendly seniors who have a lot of wisdom (and free flower vases) to share. They are also currently looking for more Bridge players.

This is location is the home of the Norton headquarters of the Annawon Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Incorporated in 1931, the Annawon Council now welcomes both boy and girl scouts. Outdoor activities mainly take place at nearby Camp Norse.

The Norton chapter is located on the second floor of the brick building in the 495 Market Place plaza, though there is no sign for the facility. Housed in the District 3 Schoolhouse, the Norton Historical Society meets every third Tuesday from September through May (except December). It offers research assistance in genealogy and local history. In addition, education programs are available for school groups. Society President Ruth Goold encourages all to come to the Old Schoolhouse and see the wonderful artifacts, speak with the members, learn and become acquainted with the town. New members are welcome.

North Cottage Program Inc. is a residential facility for substance abuse treatment licensed by the Bureau of Substance Abuse services of the Department of Public Health of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The facility provides treatment to adult males who are in the earliest stages of recovery. The Intensive Treatment Program helps clients without any previous residential treatment and those who have had multiple treatments with no continued recovery. North Cottage Program Inc. also includes a Halfway House, which is a long-term residential facility and the Multi-Phase Unit, which is for clients who are in the phase I Intensive Treatment Program or the phase II halfway house levels of treatment. Houses funded by the weekly fees paid by the residents, provide the clients with independent living, employment and other daily activities with continued recovery from substance abuse.
