Initially founded as the South Aurora Church of God more than 20 years ago, this church has changed its name to Destiny Worship Center because, in the words of Pastor James Schulker, "it's in Montgomery, not South Aurora." The church is committed to children's and youth ministry and sees an average of 25 attendees each Sunday. It draws from several surrounding communities, and Schulker says virtually all of the church's members are from more than five miles away.

The Oswego Public Library District was formed in 1977 to serve Montgomery, Oswego, Plainfield, Bristol and Wheatland Townships. It maintains two campuses, one in Oswego and this one, constructed after a bond issue in 2006. The Montgomery campus offers free Internet access, and a selection of DVDs and CDs for lending. The library accepts donations of gently-used paperbacks and hardcovers, but not textbooks or encyclopedias.
