Big God Ministries is a nondenominational Christian congregation that holds a weekly Sunday service at 10am at the Mill Valley Community Center. The congregation believes in helping people through prayer, personal visits, food vouchers, encouragement and counseling.

Big God Ministries is known throughout Marin for its annual Thanksgiving Day turkey giveaway to people in need in Marin City and the Canal in San Rafael. In 2009 Big God Ministries gave out 1,000 turkeys and free Bibles, and it hopes to give out 5,000 turkeys and more Bibles in 2010.

Likewise, the congregation holds an annual toy drive in December, giving out new toys to children of all ages in those same communities. In 2009 they gave out more than 1,000 toys and hope to give out 5,000 toys in 2010.

Big God Ministries conducts church services every Sunday morning at 10 am in the Terrace Room of the Mill Valley Community Center (180 Camino Alto), including Sunday School for children. It also gathers on Wednesday at 6:30pm for Bible Study at the Tam Valley Starbucks (247 Shoreline Hwy).

Founded more than 100 years ago in Mill Valley, this First Church of Christ, Scientist and its companion Christian Science Reading Room is one of three Christian Science churches in Marin. Led by Chairman Charles Patterson and First Reader Marilynn Laubshire, the church welcomes visitors from all backgrounds with an interest in Christian Science.

The church hosts a weekly Sunday service at 10am and companion Sunday school at the same time for youth up to age 20. A Bible study class is held 11:30 am to 1 pm on Wednesday in the Reading Room.

The Crescent Porter Hale Foundation is a private family foundation supporting nonprofit organizations through grants in five Bay area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo.

The foundation has highlighted several areas of concern that it hopes to fund. Those areas are art and music education, Catholic elementary and high schools, programs that focus on improving the quality of life for the disadvantaged, and agencies serving at-risk and minority youth, families or the elderly.

The Tam High Foundation was established in 1996 to help fund academic and student life programs across the campus of Tamalpais High School. Since its inception, the foundation has invested approximately $2 million in the school's students, teachers, and programs. 

During the 2008-2009 school year the foundation funded such projects as a laptop lab, tutoring programs, new media editing workstations and cameras and the drama program, among others.

Scott Highlands Park is a small neighborhood park that is located on Vista Linda Drive. It features a fully fenced, newly remodeled playground geared for children age five to twelve. Fun items include play structures, swings, a yellow saucer seat spinner, a long row of monkey bars and a Christmas tree merry-go-round. A short flight of stairs leads to a small sports field that is not fenced.
