West Virginia Northern Community College is a public, multicampus community college. It offers courses in the areas of business, culinary arts, occupational development, health care, law, teaching, and computer technology. The college also provides a human services program that offers education in the fields of mental health and alcohol and drug treatment. Additionally, it provides vocational courses in the areas of fiber optics, medical transcription and paramedic technology. The college also offers various sports activities that include basketball and softball. West Virginia Northern Community College was founded in 1972 and is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The college maintains a location in Weirton, W.Va.
