New College of Florida is an educational institution that provides a variety of undergraduate courses and programs in arts and sciences. The college offers more than 260 courses and has a faculty of over 70 professors and teachers. It provides programs in English, history, economics, chemistry, biology and mathematics, as well as German and French. The college also conducts classes in medieval and renaissance studies, music, natural sciences, philosophy, political science, psychology and sociology. Founded in 1960, New College of Florida has an enrollment of more than 750 students with a student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1. The college offers scholarships and financial aid to students. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. New College of Florida maintains a 110-acre campus in Sarasota, Fla.
