Mary, Queen of Peace is a Catholic church on the Sammamish Plateau started in 1987. At the time, more residents were moving to the area and the parish was made up of Catholic church members from Issaquah, Carnation and Redmond.
Mary, Queen of Peace held its first Mass in October of that year. That service was held on what is now Trinity Lutheran College. It was not until 1990 when Mary, Queen of Peace welcomed worshippers at its current location. It expanded in 2002.
One estimate placed the congregation at more than 2,100 families.
Located in the heart of downtown Gig Harbor, Church of the Nazarene has ministries for children, youth and adults on Sundays and Wednesdays. The church also has a music and prayer ministry. On Sunday, the church offers Sunday school for adults as well as children. Pastor Steve Gates has a mission statement for the church: "that the Holy Spirit seeks to do in us a second work of grace." The church also offers audio sermons and mission work.
First Presbyterian is a large church north of downtown Bellevue that offers a variety of programs aside from worship services, including choir for children, teens and adults, missionary trips, a preschool and exercise classes like yoga, basketball and strength training. Bible study classes are available.
Peninsula Christian Fellowship (PCF) is located next to the Peninsula Library. The church offers Sunday worship and Home Fellowships in Gig Harbor and Tacoma throughout the week. There are also specified group meetings for youths and adults.
PCF offers missions, small groups and youth teaching for its members and believes that "music deeply affects and moves the human heart unlike any other medium, and our purpose is to serve the body of Christ..."
St. Frances Cabrini School is a Catholic school that serves students ages 4-14. It offers rigorous coursework in language arts, math, science and literature, all while instilling strong Catholic values in students.
