Founded in 1973 and established at this site in 1978, Mamaroneck Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) is a volunteer ambulance corps that provides emergency care for the Village of Mamaroneck. MEMS responds to more than a thousand calls annually and is available 24-hours a day.

Each ambulance crew consists of a paramedic, an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), an ambulance driver and an attendant. Members, who volunteer a minimum of one shift per week, must attend regular training sessions to stay on top of life-saving techniques. Using paramedics provided by the Town of Mamaroneck Ambulance District, MEMS offers Advanced Life Support (ALS).

The current village manager is Richard Slingerland.  As the village's chief executive and chief administrative officer, he is responsible for the every day operations of all departments, except for the police.

Among the several roles served by the manager are personnel administrator, labor relations, grants writer and coordinator, project management, budget officer and village liaison with other governmental entities.

He is also in charge of publishing the "Voice of the Village" newsletter, preparing and awarding bids and handling insurance matters.

Issues within the village that have not been addressed by the specific departments should be directed to the manager's office.

The Sanitation Department is governed by the Town of West Seneca in New York. The department offers garbage and household rubbish pickup services. The Mamaroneck Town Clerk, Christina Battalia, is an elected official serving a four-year term. Her office is located on the second floor of the Town Center on the Boston Post Road.

The town clerk is responsible for the custody of the town records. She also issues and maintains licenses, certificates and permits, such as birth, death and marriage certificates, marriage licenses, municipal parking permits, and licenses for dogs, hunting, fishing, burglar alarms and garage sales, among others. 

The clerk can perform wedding ceremonies, and she acts as the town's Freedom of Information Officer and liaison to the board of elections. She and her deputies are are allowed to perform notary services to residents at no charge.

The Community Services office was established in 1976 to provide, coordinate and administer human services for the Town of Mamaroneck and the Village of Larchmont.  

The office provides direct help or referrals to seniors, disabled and low-income residents with issues regarding housing, employment, and others. It also helps community groups coordinate charity events in the holiday season, and supervises the senior center on Boston Post Road, which is sponsored by the Town of Mamaroneck.

The Town of Mamaroneck Police Department provides basic police services, such as crime prevention and investigation, patrol and traffic enforcement, and has a youth division. It also assists the Volunteer Ambulance Corps by responding to emergency medical calls.

The governing body of the Department is the Board of Police Commissioners, which is formed by the Town Board. 

Among the activities the Department sponsors are crime prevention lectures, public safety and protection seminars, and youth programs. D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), for example, is offered to fifth- and seventh-grade students in the district's schools to help them resist pressures regarding drugs and alcohol consumption.

Appointed by the town board, town comptroller  Anthony Siligato is responsible for managing the fiscal operation of the town, which includes the following areas: accounts payable, receivable systems, purchasing, and employee benefits.

He also manages investment of town funds, reports all financial activity to the State Comptroller, and collects all town, county, school and special district taxes levied within the town.

The town comptroller's office is located on the second floor of the Town Center on Boston Post Road.

The town's financial records are audited every year. Copies of this audit are available in the town clerk's office.

LMC-TV has been broadcasting to the Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Rye Neck communities for more than 25 years via a three-prong approach know as PEG TV. That means LMC-TV has separate channels devoted to public access, educational and governmental programming.

The LMC-TV HQ are located at the Town of Mamaroneck Town Center.

The not-for-profit local television station, with studios at Mamaroneck High School and 145 Library Ln., offers free access to its equipment and facilities to anyone working, living or going to school in the area. In addition to covering local news, community events, government meetings and school board discussions, LMC-TV also offers field and studio production classes, after-school clubs, and can create not-for-profit promos. It has a college internship program, and Rye Neck High School students can earn their community service requirements by volunteering at the studio.

The Village of Mamaroneck was incorporated in 1985 with the addition of Rye Neck. The Village Hall on 123 Mamaroneck Ave. is home to several municipal offices, including that of the Village Mayor, Clerk-Treasurer, Assessor, Manager, Registrar of Vital Statistics and Attorney. 

The Board of Trustees meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the Courtroom at Village Hall.

This historical building, erected in the 1930s, provides an invalauble service to the community, as it treats all the wastewater from residential and commercial buildings in a 30-square-mile area that includes Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Harrison and parts of White Plains. The sewage is treated, cleaned up and sent back out to the Long Island Sound.
