The Cape Cod Commission is a land planning and regulatory agency that manages growth and protects the Cape's environment and character for future generations. It was created in 1990 through an act of the the state legislature and was confirmed by a majority of Barnstable County to serve the 15 towns within the county. The Commission works to grow affordable housing, protect coastal resources, increase economic development, help solve waste management, transportation and water problems.
