The Lancaster County Librarys mission is to provide materials and resources to meet the changing information needs of a growing community. The library system consists of the main library, the Kershaw Branch the Del Webb Library and one bookmobile. The main library at 313 S. White Street in Lancaster offers childrens programs, reference assistance and a wide variety of informational and recreational materials. Online databases and Internet access are available for public use. These services also extend to the Kershaw Branch library on Fork Hill Road in Kershaw and the Del Webb Library in Indian Land. The Bookmobile provides outreach services to remote areas of the county and to children and senior adults in day care settings. The Bookmobile delivers books, audiobooks and magazines to people who do not have ready access to the library. Getting a Library Card Library cards are free to all South Carolina residents. Those patrons who do not live within the state may obtain library cards by paying an annual fee. Library cards are issued at any Lancaster County Library branch with proof of current name and address. First time check out is limited to five items. Your library card can be used at each branch and the bookmobile, but you must present the card each time you borrow materials. The card holder is responsible for all materials checked out on his or her library card. Parents are responsible for items checked out by their children. Report the loss or theft of a card promptly to avoid its unauthorized use. A card holder is responsible until loss is reported. Report address or phone number changes immediately by calling any branch.

South Carolina State legislation requires that cities and counties develop and update a 20-year comprehensive plan every 10 years. Mauldins first comprehensive plan was completed in 1999. Mauldin is unique in that our Comprehensive plan will include an additional City Center Development element. Please fill out a Comprehensive Plan Comment Form. Mauldin Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee A Steering Committee of City Council members, key staff members, Planning Commission members, and citizens was formed in April 2008 to guide development of the plan. In addition, three Advisory Groups made up of citizens and staff members from regional planning agencies have met regularly to focus on specific elements of the plan.
