The staff at the Naugatuck Radio Shack, located in the Mountain View Stopping Center on Rubber Avenue, is friendly and will answer any questions about their electronics.

"We ask them questions too [about what they're looking for]," Julio Rivera, store manager, said. "We want to make sure they get what they need. We want to help them out."

For instance, many people identify Radio Shack as a "parts store" Mr. Rivera said.  Many people don't know that in addition to cameras, laptops and iPods, Radio Shack also offers cell phones, upgrades, three cell phone carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint) and connections to new lines or transferring service providers.  According to Mr. Rivera, a customer called about a problem with a Samsung phone he had bought through a cell phone carrier. The man had paid $250 for the phone, while it would have only cost him $50 for the same model at Radio Shack.

Radio Shack has held sidewalk sales before with vendors promoting brands sold in-store. One of the store's three cell phone providers may be scheduled to visit the storefront and offer discounts on phones for opening up a new line. On Black Friday, customers can expect discounts on select products.

The chain also offers installation services through AT&T Connect Tech, similar to Best Buy's Geek Squad. Customers can set up an appointment in the store. Radio Shack also offers repair services.

Even a chain store can have some surprises, and the Radio Shack staff wants to help their customers find them, staying true to the Radio Shack motto, "You've got questions, we've got answers."
