Alaska Power & Telephone, also known as AP&T, is a privately held, employee-owned utility that specializes in the regulation and administration of communications, electric, telephone and other facilities in Alaska. It serves more than over 30 communities that stretch from the Arctic Circle to southeastern Alaska. The company runs several low-impact hydro, wind and experimental underwater river turbine projects. Alaska Power & Telephone focuses on developing long-term renewable energy and communication solutions. It builds hydroelectric facilities and retrofits diesel systems and extends power lines to customers.
