Bethel Horizons, based in Dodgeville, Wis., is a part of Bethel Lutheran Church and offers a variety of summer camping programs for children and youth. It also provides retreat centers that are open year-round for youth and adult retreats, conferences, meetings and peer mediation training. Bethel Horizons is located on more than 500-acres of hills, valleys and wooded areas in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. The camp and retreat center offers a wide variety of programs, including cliff and cave exploration, hiking, canoeing, prairie and forest studies, animal tracking, and orienteering. Bethel s environmental games include camouflage, predator-prey relationships, population fluctuations, wildlife management, conservation and developing personal land ethics through active games. Its nature center s exhibit area includes interpretive displays, reference materials, wildlife viewing area and a nature store.

Birch Trail is a camp that offers a range of recreational activities to girls. The camp features a more than 4,500-foot lake frontage and sandy beach. It enrolls over 195 campers each session. Birch Trail s camper cabins are equipped with bunk beds, shelves, tables and chairs. The camp is accredited by the American Camping Association. It provides jazz dance, aerobics and drama classes. Birch Trail offers several adventurous activities that include horseback riding, canoeing, archery and mountain biking. The camp also maintains a craft shop and health center. It provides various sports events, including volleyball, golf, basketball tennis and field hockey. Birch Trail additionally offers sessions in photography, radio broadcasting and martial arts.

Operational for more than 93 years, Camp Kawaga offers more than 100 recreational activities that promote sportsmanship and leadership skills. Its land sports activities include softball, basketball, football, tennis, soccer, volleyball courts, golf and lacrosse. The camp organizes various water activities, such as sailing, waterskiing, boating and canoeing. It also conducts a range of outdoor adventure activities, such as bicycling, boxing, fishing, archery, riflery, waterskiing, and track and field.
