Founded in 1881, Spelman College is a private, independent college for women that is located in Atlanta. The college offers a wide range of Bachelor of Arts programs, such as economics, English, French, history, mathematics and political science. Its Bachelor of Science programs include biochemistry, biology, chemistry, engineering, and computer and information sciences. The foreign languages department at Spelman College offers a variety of courses and programs in Spanish, French, Japanese and Latin.
