Above the Rim is a community outreach program and mentoring center. It specializes in social skills and academic assistance in addition to athletics. This includes team building, self-esteem, anti-violence, nutrition and fitness, and life skills such as conflict resolution, leadership development, financial literacy, scrimmages and group activities. Above the Rim is an acronym for “Active Bodies Opposed to Violence Experience Truly Healthy Environments for Real Intelligent Minds.”
