Homan Auto Sales opened its doors in 1974 as a used car dealership owned by Ed and Flora Homan and employed one full time technician to service vehicles. Over the first couple of years of being a used car dealership the dealership added employees to help service their customers, added a full time body shop manager, and Jeff Homan ( service manager and technician at the time ) and Steve Homan ( Office Manager and Tire Sales ), joined the business.In 1986, Ed Homan obtained the Chrysler and Dodge new car franchises and Mark Homan graduated from college and became sales manager of the dealership. Over the next couple of years, the dealership grew to be one of the leading dealers in the state for market penetration and customer satisfaction. The number of employees also grew over the next couple of years.In 1991, Homan Auto Sales, Inc acquired the Pontiac and Oldsmobile franchises. During this time, Ed Homan realized that the dealership was outgrowing its location and Ed started making plans to build a new location to help service the needs of the customers of the dealership. In November of 1992, the Jeep franchise was added and the Chrysler Dodge and Jeep brands were moved to their current location at 925 W. Main St. in Waupun and the Pontiac and Oldsmobile franchises were moved to the former Chrysler and Dodge location.In 1996 Ed and Flora sold the business to Mark, Steve, and Jeff, and at this time the dealership employed over 25 employees at the Chrysler and General Motors locations. After moving to the new Chrysler location, sales improved by over 100% over the next couple of years and in 2001 Homan Auto Sales acquired the Chevrolet and Buick franchises and moved their Pontiac franchise the Chevrolet Buick location at 240 Gateway Drive. With the merging of the Chevrolet Buick and Pontiac franchises, Homans was now a team of over 36 employees.Homans is very proud of its history of service to the community and for the service of its team members.
