Our employees have been involved with the purchase and resale of many stocks ranging from $5, 000 to $500, 000. Taggart Auction can sell or purchase large stocks for liquidation at auction including: large inventories and real estate for resale at auction, machinery, manufacturing plants, restaurants and many other types of trade. Mr. J. B. Sykes, Jr. founded Rebel Auction Company in 1980. Mr. Sykes, Jr. started in the equipment business in 1965 with the late Mr. Pete Yokley of Pulaski, Tennessee. Following Pete Yokleys death, Mr. Sykes, Jr. started Rebel Auction Company. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Sales and Advertising. In his lifetime, Mr. Sykes, Jr. handled well over one thousand auction sales. Under his leadership, Rebel Auction has grown to be one of the leaders in the farm, construction, and truck auction business. Mr. Sykes, Jr. passed away on August 26, 1998. Rebel Auction will continue as he wished, under the leadership of Bobby and Kim Maxey. Bobby Maxey, Mr. Sykes son-in-law, is the auctioneer and President of Rebel Auction Sales, Inc Bobby is a 1988 graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He is also a graduate of the Nashville Auction School. Bobby is owner of Rebel Farms in Indianola. He has worked with Rebel Auction since 1985. Bobby took over the reins of Rebel Auction in 1998 following J. B.s death. Kim Maxey, Bobbys wife and Mr. Sykes daughter, is the office manager for Rebel Auction. She is responsible for the day to day operations of our office in Indianola. She also coordinates the office at the sale site on the day of the sale. She is a 1988 graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Marketing. Clint Russell, of of Cleveland MS, serves as ringmaster and sales representative. Clint is a farmer from Sunflower County. He is a 2010 graduate of the Nashville Auction School. He is a member of the Drew-Ruleville Rotary Club. He also serves on the Sunflower County Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors. Johnny Gray of of Eutaw AL, serves as field man. Johnny farms and raises cattle in west Alabama. He has worked Rebel Auction Company for over twenty-five years. Pat Visconti of of Indianola MS, and Tiffanie Russell of of Cleveland MS, serves as cashier on the day of the sale. Hugh Smith of of Brandon MS, and Mr. M. A. Tanksley of of Indianola MS, worked alongside Mr. Sykes since the founding of rebel Auction Company. Thier services were invaluable in helping rebel Auction Company become a leader in the equipment auction industry.
