The South Gate Art Gallery and Civic Center Museum are located within a large building neighboring City Hall. The facility features a small variety of art, sculptures and historic artifacts from the city. The main room of the gallery offers paintings and photographs by local residents which depict the city. The gallery is only open one day per week, with guided tours available upon request. Several flyers and pamphlets about South Gate's history are also on hand and can be picked up free of charge within the building. Staff of the museum and gallery are bilingual and offer assistance and information in both English and Spanish.
