BIOGRAPHY Justin W. Langan, M.D. is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacements. Dr. Langan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University where he also lettered in football and soccer. He received his medical degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine where he was selected junior Alpha Omega Alpha Honor society and member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society while serving as President for the School of Medicine and Surgery Society. He followed with a residency in orthopedic surgery at Greenville Health System University Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident and received the American Orthopaedic Association Resident Leader award. He completed his fellowship in adult reconstruction at Southern Joint Replacement Institute. Dr. Langan specializes in both anterior and posterior hip replacements as well as total and partial knees. Dr. Langan is a member of the American Orthopaedic Association and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Dr. Langan is a native of Davenport, Iowa where he went to Bettendorf High School and met his wife, Leslie. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, golfing, barbequing, hiking and staying active.

We have eleven anesthesiologists, all board certified or in the certification process, and one boarded anesthesiologist who provides pain management services at our pain clinic. She completed her Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati, and went on to complete her fellowship in Sports Medicine as the first female to be trained at the world-renowned Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Florida. She has served as the team physician for several high school and college sports programs, and treats athletes of all ages at TOAs Murfreesboro and Manchester locations. Dr. White is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and she has attained the honor of the Janet M. Glasgow Achievement Citation for Women in Medicine. She has been invited to present her own research at several national conferences and has been published in many medical peer journals as well. Outside of her work at TOA, Dr. White loves to travel globally and she has visited all 7 continents. She enjoys working on her family’s Tennessee farm as the fifth generation to raise horses and cattle there, and serves as a substitute church pianist in her hometown of Pelham, Tennessee.

BIOGRAPHY R. David Todd, MD specializes in interventional pain management. He is double board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine through the American Board of Anesthesiology. A native of West Texas, Dr. Todd graduated from Ohio State University with honors before attending the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He then completed his anesthesia residency, followed by an interventional pain treatment fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. During his fellowship, Dr. Todd received extensive training in treating various acute and chronic pain pathologies, including disorders of the spine, postoperative pain syndromes, myofascial disorders and arthritis. In addition, Dr. Todds training includes using various modalities to treat neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome, and headaches. Dr. Todd takes a multidimensional approach to treating patients that includes therapies, medication management and minimally invasive procedures. An experienced scientific and clinical researcher, Dr. Todd has been published in numerous books, publications and presentations. Dr. Todd currently sees patients and performs procedures at Saint Thomas West, Saint Thomas Midtown, and Saint Thomas Rutherford. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the American Academy of Pain Medicine. Away from the office, Dr. Todd enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He enjoys golf, travel, college sports, basketball and reading.

Founded in 1969, the Vanderbilt Neurology Department provides a range of neurological care services to adults and children. The department treats more than 1,500 neurology adult patients annually and offers over 1,000 inpatient and nearly 2,000 emergency department consulting services every year. It maintains consulting practice, epilepsy, headache, neuromuscular disease, stroke, and sleep and movement disorder divisions. The Vanderbilt Neurology Department offers pediatric neurology services to approximately 200 children annually.
