Established in 1970, Baton Rouge Zoo offers a variety of wildlife conservation programs and services throughout the state of Louisiana. The zoo has various creatures that include aquatic mammals, bears, birds, cats, chimpanzees and dogs. It also has elephants, gibbons, gorillas, reptiles and amphibians, monkeys, orangutans and rhinos. The zoo has an online bookstore that has a large collection of books on wildlife and forests.
