Columbus Regional Hospital was originally known as the Bartholomew County Hospital. It is a regional referral hospital that serves multiple counties in southeastern Indiana. The hospital offers medical specialties and services that allow individuals to stay closer to home without having to drive miles away to a metropolitan area. It employs more than 1,500 people, including nearly 200 physicians and 40 medical specialists. The hospital specializes in immunology, anesthesiology, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, emergency and family medicine and neurology. It also provides oncology, ophthalmology, pathology, pediatrics, radiology and women s health services. Additionally, it provides various psychiatric and wellness services. The 200-plus bed facility, located in Columbus, Ind., serves more than 90,000 patients every year. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program.
