The Martha's Regional Vineyard Transit Authority provides year round public transit to six towns on the Island; Aquinnah, Chilmark, Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Tisbury and West Tisbury and in the peak season there are 14 routes in operation across the Island. It offers a variety of fare options including one way passes as well as one day, three day, seven day, 31 day and annual passes. Discounts are given to students 17 and under and seniors 65 and older. Children under six ride free with an adult. Bike racks are available on the outside of the buses and are accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis. All VTA busses are equipped with luggage racks. Tickets can be purchased on the bus with cash, or at the Steamship Authority terminal, or at the Edgartown Visitor Center. 31 day passes and annual passes can be purchased at the VTA office on A Street or at the Edgartown Visitor Center.
