The Linn-Benton Housing Authority is a regional public corporation that has been operational for more than 25 years and provides affordable housing for low-income residents. Its services include property acquisition, housing development, issuing of tax-exempt bonds, accepting grants and managing property. The authority serves more than 2,500 families. It employs over 30 area residents. It administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, which allows the housing authority to directly subsidize the monthly rent payments for very low-income families. The Linn-Benton Housing Authority also owns and manages housing for senior citizens and individuals with special needs. It is located in Albany, Ore.
