Founded in 1938, Kootenai Electric Cooperative is a private, member-owned nonprofit electricity Utility company that supplies electricity for residential and commercial clients in Hayden, Idaho. It is one of approximately 600 electric cooperatives throughout the United States that have braded themselves as Touchstone Energy Partners. The cooperative id governed by an independent seven-member elected Board of Directors and has more than 21,000 member accounts. The cooperatives electric lines are stretched in over 2,000 miles and covers Kootenai, Benewah, Bonner and Spokane counties in Idaho.
